Advisory

Senior judgement on evaluative AI.

Ramirez takes on a limited number of paid expert engagements per quarter, for organisations that need senior judgement on evaluative AI, AI-assisted document review or EU AI Act readiness at implementation level. Not slideware about what AI might mean for you, but a considered position on the system, the process or the file in front of you.

Every engagement is led by the founder and runs through Ramirez BV.

The engagement

Short, scoped, deliverable-based.

An engagement has a defined question, a defined timebox and a defined deliverable. Three typical shapes:

Architecture review

A critical read of how your evaluative or AI-assisted review system is designed: where the human decides, where findings anchor to sources, and where the design contradicts its own claims.

Readiness assessment

Your processes and artefacts around AI use, tested at implementation level: which obligation has which supporting evidence, what is missing, what is outdated, and what your documentation claims that nothing carries.

Second pair of eyes on an AI dossier

A vendor assessment, an internal AI policy, an accountability statement: read the way a critical reviewer will read it, with a findings report before you rely on it or publish it.

In every shape the rule is the same as in our systems: we assess what is there, we do not write it for you, and the decision remains yours.

Who you work with

Kwinten Van Hoecke, founder of Ramirez.

Kwinten Van Hoecke built Esmond, our evaluation platform for higher education, in production since March 2026 and active in three markets. He is the author of Ramirez's contribution to the EU AI Office consultation on the Article 6 high-risk classification guidelines (July 2026).

That combination is the point: someone who has shipped an evaluative system that runs in production, and who works on the regulation at the level where it becomes artefacts and evidence, not headlines.

How it runs

Through Ramirez BV, on a scoped basis.

Engagements are contracted with Ramirez BV, the Belgian company behind Ramirez and Esmond. This is a company service line, not employment.

Capacity is deliberately limited: a small number of engagements per quarter, so each one gets senior attention from start to deliverable. Advisory is not legal advice, not an audit and not an attestation; where a question belongs with counsel or an auditor, we say so.

The method the advisory work draws on, and where we stand on the regulation, in writing:

If your question fits this shape, describe it in a few lines. If it fits our capacity and our competence, we respond with a scope proposal; if it does not, we say so.
